Sorry for the late post, the holidays got the best of me!

Which bowl will the Hawkeyes be heading?

Which bowl will the Hawkeyes be heading?

After finishing the regular season with a 7-5 record, Iowa fans are bruised but not broken. Along with 7-5 Penn State, 7-5 Michigan, 7-5 Northwestern and 6-5 Illinois, our Hawkeyes will have to wait and see where we end up.

Our options include the Outback Bowl, Gator Bowl, Insight Bowl, Texas Bowl, and TicketCity Bowl.

It sounds like the Outback and Gator bowls are all the buzz so lets keep our eyes peeled. Go Hawks!!

Iowa Vs. Ohio State

Iowa Vs. Ohio State

After last weeks horrible loss….I needed to take a few days off. But guess what Hawk fans? It is time to pick up our skirts and brush that dirt off our shoulder. It’s time to get energized, excited, fierce, determined, brutal, and seriously cocky. I HATE OHIO STATE. Always have, probably always will. 2002, when we shared the Big Ten title and never got to play them. The year they won the National Championship. What a crock. Anyway, this weekend will be our chance to make a HUGE statement. I mean HUGE.

The two teams met for the first time back in November of 1922. As of 2009, Iowa stands at 14-45-3 against Ohio State. There was one ugly span of 20 years of losing to the Buckeyes from 1963 through 1982.

Hayden Fry finally got a victory in 1983. He was crowned the best coach in the history of the world. Columbus felt like losers. That was the year I was born.

Iowa defeated a No. 22 ranked Penn State early in the season and then No. 5 ranked Michigan State—both games inside Kinnick Stadium. They can do it. We have seen them at their best.

BE THERE THIS WEEKEND. Your fearless President is back in action and will be there to lose his voice. We will be taking pics and video so dress sharply. And leave your Ohio State friends at home, no need to spoil the party.

Iowa vs. Northwestern

Iowa vs. Northwestern

This is a big one guys. The Hawkeyes are one of four teams with one loss in conference play and are tied with Ohio State and Wisconsin for second place, a half game behind Michigan State. If they get by Northwestern (6-3, 2-3) and the Buckeyes, they would be in good position to claim at least a share of their first Big Ten title in six years since they finish with last-place Minnesota.

I know it’s another early game (9a.m. PST) but please try and make it, show your support to our team and our new host! Imperial Bar & Lounge will be our GameWatch location on 150 N. Arlington Ave.

Drink Specials: $2 Bud Lights, $3 Guiness, Blue Moon and NewCastle. We will also be looking into creating a “Hawkeye Shot” which will be on special.

Iowa beats Indiana 18-13

Iowa beats Indiana 18-13

For now, Iowa remains in a three-way tie for second place in the Big Ten race with Wisconsin and Ohio State, a half-game behind the Spartans.
But all four teams have one loss in conference play, and as most Michigan State fans have figured out by now, they’ll need some help to get to Pasadena if things go as expected down the stretch in the Big Ten race.
Among the more likely scenarios is a three-way tie at the top between Michigan State, Wisconsin and the winner of the Ohio State-Iowa game Nov. 20 in Iowa City. The Spartans would win a three-way tiebreaker with Wisconsin and Iowa — despite the Hawkeyes head-to-head advantage over the Spartans — but they’d almost assuredly lose one with Wisconsin and Ohio State.

Imperial Bar & Lounge

Imperial Bar & Lounge

Ok!! We are officially changing our GameWatch location to Imperial Bar and Lounge! We are very excited to be partnering with one of the most popular bars downtown. They have a hell of a beer list and their menu is top notch. There are big screen TV’s throughout the place, so we will have NO trouble watching in comfort! This will be very positive for our club, some much needed increased exposure and one awesome GameWatch partner.

IOWA IS CURRENTLY RANKED 16th!! The First GameWatch at Imperial will be this Saturday at 9 a.m. They will be opening early just for us. “Any talk of a national championship for Iowa was silenced last month with a one-point home loss, but a dominating victory last week put the Hawkeyes back in the Rose Bowl conversation. Looking to build on the program’s most lopsided win over a ranked team under coach Kirk Ferentz, the No. 15 Hawkeyes continue their push for the Big Ten title Saturday at Indiana.” – ESPN

Parking: We should have no problem finding a parking spot in the north lot adjacent to Imperial. Just be sure not to park where the orange cones sit along the sidewalk to the west. If the lot happens to be full, there is a huge parking lot on 2nd St., west of Imperial about a half a block. If you have any questions, call me (Scott Rieckens) at 775-742-8502.

Drink Specials: $2 Bud Lights, $3 Guiness, Blue Moon and NewCastle. We will also be looking into creating a “Hawkeye Shot” which will be on special.

Food Specials: 1/2 off pizzas
